Community Programmes

Eresby School is very much a part of the local community.

Community Programmes

We champion community awareness amongst our pupils, whether it be local, national or global.

Eresby possesses strong partnerships with local primary and secondary schools, as well as taking part in numerous community events, and support global projects.

All of these partnerships and links help pupils to strengthen their community and cultural awareness.

Work experience

All students for whom it is appropriate in key stages 4 and 5 have the opportunity to take part in external work experience placements once a year. Students work in the local community supported by a member of staff from school for a week’s placement each year from year 10 -14. This gives them a valuable experience of the world of work and a chance to develop the social skills necessary.

Work Taster week

Students in class 7 take part in a work taster week, where they visit a different work setting each day for a week. This gives them the opportunity to see and experience a variety of jobs that people do.

Mini enterprise

Students in class 8 (post 16), run mini enterprise activities which enables the students to develop their life and social skills, whilst also providing community links.

Spilsby

Eresby School has very strong links with Spilsby and is supported by businesses and the local community. We use the town to develop many skills for our students, from shopping for cooking resources to visiting the local churches and holding events in them.
