Raise self-esteem by the values we display, by our attitudes towards ourselves and others and to respect everyone, pupils and staff.
-
Be sensitive towards all pupils, especially when involved in intimate care, to respect privacy. Be supportive in showing pupils how to express their feelings appropriately.
-
Place high expectations on behaviour from staff and pupils. Not to tolerate any form of bullying, racism, ageism, or sexism. Not to place value on a person by their physical appearance.
-
Enable pupils to lead as independent a life as is possible, extending the teaching out into the community. For senior pupils to learn life skills to be able to carry out basic skills following the ASDAN and Moving On accredited schemes.

and touch. To promote awe and wonder through the wider
curriculum.

Provide links with mainstream schools and community
as appropriate to the needs of individual pupils.
