Work Experience Update
Pupils are continuing to enjoy internal and external work experience. Two pupils spent four days at Treehouse Children's Centre. The pre-school children thoroughly enjoyed the pupils leading singing sessions, reading stories and playing games. Our learners had the magic touch and even managed to get the babies to sleep!
Two pupils spent 4 days on their feet, completing work experience at Tong Engineering. They had a fantastic work ethic and made an lasting impression on employees during sanding the metal and stock taking in the stores.
One learner demonstrated excellent communication skills during his work placement at Eresby Hall Care Home. He worked alongside the activities coordinator for 4 days and helped lead lots of Christmas activities. This is the start of an exciting, mutually beneficial partnership with Eresby Care Home, with a range of events being added to the diary, including our school choir joining the residents for a Christmas sing song.
A group of pupils on our semi-formal pathway have started their internal work experience. They have enthusiastically spent 30 minutes each Thursday afternoon as a classroom and caretaker assistant. This has provided an excellent opportunity to develop essential skills such as problem solving and communication, as well as increasing their independence and responsibility.
